ABOUT
SHORT: Shauna McGarry is a writer/performer in Los Angeles who can be bought with a latte.
LONG: Shauna McGarry is a writer, producer and performer in Los Angeles. This summer, she’s thrilled to take part in Sophie Blackall’s Children’s Writing Workshop at Milkwood Farms. In television, Shauna is currently executive producing two animated series for Netflix, “Dohl’s” with Chloe Troast and Gloria Sanchez Productions, and “Hello World” with Sam Lane and Baobab Studios. Before these, she served as the executive producer of “The 2nd Best Hospital in the Galaxy”, an animated sci-fi comedy for Amazon/ Animal Pictures. Her episode For Which was nominated for an Annie. She also received Annie nominations for her writing on “Craig of the Creek” and “Tuca and Bertie”, the latter of which she won for, “The Jelly Lakes.” Shauna’s written and produced for “BoJack Horseman” (Emmy nominated), "Katy Keene", “Jeff and Some Aliens”, “Take My Wife”, “Bajillion Dollar Properties,” and several other series she doesn’t mention unless pressed. Her first feature, “The Joke’s Over” is currently being produced by Wayfarer Studios.
As a storyteller/performer, Shauna’s performed at the Moth Mainstage, Risk, UCB, etc. Her solo show “LA Homebody” was optioned by FX and developed for tv. For five years Shauna hosted the popular eastside LA storytelling show, “The Radio Picture Show” and is currently producing a new live show, “Low Fi High Tea” to premiere this June.
Shauna is the president of the board for the Echo Park Film Center, a community micro-cinema, and school. But you probably know her best from crying at that Chipotle on Beverly that one time after an especially bad job interview.
Shauna lives in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, with her husband and son.
